The pair will officially open Wington’s Glamping in Clarence Point to local residents before their first guests arrive in coming weeks.
The physical build of their site – which contains three tents complete with luxurious queen-size beds and ensuite tents behind – is finished, more than five months since the planning process began.
Mr Kington said he hoped the location of the site would encourage guests to enjoy the local produce.
“We really want people to enjoy the nature of what’s around and also the wine route and the produce that’s here,” he said.
Mr Wicks said the pair had worked to rejuvenate the site, previously owned by his great-grandparents, with native flora.
“It’s a really tranquil escape. Here in the evenings it’s just quiet. All you can hear is the lapping water,” he said.
“I think people who come from the city will be able to get really relaxed and rejuvenated.”
