Owner Retail Adventures ceased Sunday operating hours for the outlets four days after announcing a surprise five-store closure across the state.
Retail Adventures business development manager Sue Gilbert was unavailable for comment yesterday.
The news comes not long after Myer announced that some of its stores could close seven-day trading in the future.
``We will be looking at each store to make a case-by-case decision,'' a Myer spokeswoman said.
Chickenfeed outlets are part of a national partnership through Retail Adventures that supports charities such as Jeans for Genes Day, Red Nose Day and Camp Quality.
Red Nose Day manager Debbie Chen said closure of the outlets would effect the charity.
``We provide three merchandise boxes to each store - they have always been a great partner and their staff always get involved in the day,'' Ms Chen said.
Cityprom chief executive Vanessa Cahoon said the news was unfortunate for the Launceston CBD.
``It comes down to the economy,'' Ms Cahoon said.
``Some are doing it tougher than others.
``The more shops we can have open seven days, the better it is for everybody.''
Chickenfeed at Prospect will remain open seven days.
