Most fees and charges will increase by about 2 per cent, although some will remain the same.
City of Launceston general manager Robert Dobrzynski said the fee changes were made to ensure the costs of providing services was reflected in charges.
‘‘In the context of this budget a general baseline of 2 per cent has been applied,’’ he said.
‘‘This will reduce the burden on ratepayers and ensure people who use various services and facilities are paying for the cost of the provision of those services and facilities.’’
Single depth burial at both Carr Villa and Lilydale cemeteries has increased by $130 to $2160, while costs of exhumation at Lilydale Cemetery have risen by almost $400 to $2970.
The cost of parking at Windmill Hill and at the Memorial Hall have been reduced slightly from $2.20 to $2 for three-hour spots, but has been increased by 10¢ for on-street metres.
A list of the fee changes was included in the February 22 council meeting agenda.
