Within five minutes of opening at 5.30pm on Friday, there were hundreds of punters already in the park, ready to enjoy the best of what the annual extravaganza had to offer.
Kate Ceberano got the crowd dancing in the dark to end the night.
Festivale attracted people from all over the country, with Melburnian Cherynn Rae saying the event kept getting better every year.
"I have such a wonderful time sitting and having a drink with my friends that I come most years now; this would be my third [Festivale]," she said.
Organiser Lou Clark said on Friday evening there were too many people enjoying the festival to count.
"There is a very large crowd and still people coming through the gates," she said.
"People have brought their own picnic rugs and chairs, and it's a beautiful night down here."
Festivale continues on Saturday and Sunday.
