The preliminary finals of the prestigious pageant will be held at Peppers Seaport Hotel in Launceston, with contestants travelling from across the state to compete.
Launceston women Amanda Duncan, 21, and Hannah Russell, 18, are among the contestants taking part in the competition this year.
Ms Russell said she felt prepared but excited to compete, having practised her answers to questions relating to the theme ‘‘Beauty with a purpose’’ before the big day.
‘‘I thought it would be a really good experience, a great opportunity especially while I’m still young,’’ she said.
Ms Duncan said the competition was not only a fun day for all, it was a chance to make new friends.
‘‘It’s a really great thing to do, that women can come together and celebrate their femininity and do it in a really tasteful way,’’ Ms Duncan said.
‘‘It’s really nice to meet other young girls as well.’’
The event be fun for everyone, with a high tea for family and friends.
