The Motorcycle Riders Association of Tasmania will conduct its annual awareness ride from Perth to Alanvale to coincide with Walk With Me, in a show of support for St Giles.
MRA spokesman Allan Roark said the association chose a different charity to support each year, while at the same time raising awareness in the community that more motorcyclists would be on the road over summer.
‘‘It’s fantastic to be supporting a local charity like St Giles, the work they do is awesome, we’ve always been big fans of the work they do so it just was a natural fit,’’ he said.
About 200 families are expected to participate in Walk With Me from the Brisbane Street Mall to City Park.
St Giles chief executive Ian Wright said the support of the MRA was ‘‘very much valued’’.
Six MRA motorcycles will be on display at the Brisbane Street Mall Walk With Me meeting point.
A free family party will be held in City Park following the walk.
