The owner of a registered ticket purchased in George Town will be notified of the win on Monday morning while an unregistered winner in Glenorchy has been encouraged to contact Tatts.
The result means the state has recorded four division one winners in less than a fortnight, with combined winnings of $3.6million.
The win also marks the third division one winner in 16 months for George Town NewsXpress.
Owner Sue Sherriff said the store had certainly proved itself to be the luckiest in the state over the past two years.
‘‘We’ve paid out more money in the last two years than we’ve actually taken in sales, so I think that’s an awesome way to do business – to give more to our customers than we take,’’ she said.
‘‘We haven’t sold a winner on Oz Lotto or Powerball yet, so we’ve set our sights on that.’’
With nine Tasmanians collecting division one prizes in 2015, Mrs Sherriff offered some advice to ticketholders who suspect they might have won a major prize.
‘‘It’s really good if our customers can check their tickets at home rather than come in here and be awfully surprised and shocked in the shop.
‘‘It’s far better to do it in the privacy of their own home. It’s pretty important to keep it as confidential as possible.’’
