Newly installed Agfest chairwoman Kate Coad said the committee had received 50 confirmed applications in the first day, with almost the same amount of pending applications listed online.
"That's pretty exciting on day one," Ms Coad said.
"To do the application it's just putting your interest in there and it's like a game of fishing ... you dangle the cookie and see if they bite." Applications will remain open until December 1, however Ms Coad said it was often useful to get a headstart in the process.
"If you put things off you sometimes forget or leave it to the last minute and we want your best application put forward," she said.
Ms Coad said through the applications the Agfest committee was hoping to identify a number of equine related applicants to be part of the 2016 event.
She said the committee had received plenty of feedback on the lack of equestrian exhibits this year.
"We've listened to that and we're working very, very hard ... to get people engaged to be back as part of that event," she said.
"If we can get enough exhibitors to secure the area to make it viable we'll definitely be back and having the display demonstration arena operating during Agfest."
The committee handover has already taken place for next year's event.
Ms Coad said although some committee members would remain there had been some changes to the executive.
"It's some new excitement, it's a refreshed vibe and thought towards the next year's event so it possibly is going to be different," she said. "There's a new set of eyes looking over the exhibitor applications so that might bring something different to the event again or it might mean the same exhibits come back but in a different capacity."
