The award has earned the expatriate Launcestonian a seven-day market visit through Asia.
Mr Wallace graduated from Launceston Church Grammar School in 2002, studied a bachelor of business in agricultural management at Marcus Oldham Agriculture College from 2004 - 2007 before leaving the University of Sydney business school with his masters degree in international business in 2013.
Mr Wallace has worked for NH Foods Australia — formerly Nippon Meat Packers Australia — since September 2009.
"I'm in an export sales role looking after Europe, Hong Kong and Southern China, as well as being the shipping manager here," he said.
"I've always had an agricultural background through the family — Dad was wool manager for Webster Limited.
"After school, I did a year in the Northern Territory as a jackeroo before starting studies at Marcus Oldham," he said.
"That was an eye opener, conditions were extremely different from those I was used to on family farms in Tassie.
"Jackarooing is something I'd recommend to anyone interested in following a career in agriculture — you see very different production systems."
Mr Wallace said he returned to Tasmania a couple of times a year to catch up with family.
