The Age of Entitlement
The Basics (Kris Schroeder, Wally De Backer and Tim Heath) are back with their first album in six years.
The rock act presents a fun-sounding journey, but at times there is a strong message attached to it.
That should not come as a surprise for a band that dipped its toe into the political water recently, forming their own party in Victoria.
The opening track, Whatever Happened to the Working Class?, takes this direction, taking a look at society and politics today.
Other subject matters such as love and relationships are touched upon, and Schroeder's time in Kenya is acknowledged on Tunaomba Saida.
This offering, whether it is through its sometimes political nature or just the way it looks at life and the world, is one that makes you think and is instantly engaging.
