They are part-owners of Riziz, who won a $50,000 race in Adelaide, Sounds Like Fun and So Much Fun, who ran the quinella in a race at Spreyton, and Iggimacool, who ran second in the $120,000 Heatherlie Stakes at Caulfield.

Their only horse not to figure in the placings was Genuine Lad, who resumed from a spell over an unsuitable distance in Melbourne and is being set for longer races later in the spring.

Caulfield trainer Robert Smerdon is delighted with the progress of Iggimacool and will raise the bar again at her next start.

‘‘Robert is looking at two options – she will either race over 1700 metres at Flemington in a fortnight or the Naturalism Stakes over 2000m at Caulfield in three weeks,’’ Maurice Mace said.

‘‘It will most probably be the Naturalism because she can get out to her preferred trip and the winner is automatically qualified for the Caulfield Cup.

‘‘After that, there is nothing really planned, but Robert will look at some of the better mares’ races.’’

Iggimacool and Genuine Lad have both been nominated for the Metropolitan Handicap in  Sydney.

Riziz will also make his way to Melbourne after winning his past two starts at Morphettville.

‘‘He won very easily on Saturday – it wasn’t much more than a track gallop,’’ Mace said. ‘‘He will have his next start in a 

group 2 race at Flemington in a fortnight.’’

Sounds Like Fun and So Much Fun, who are full brother and sister, were both bred by Mace and are trained at Longford by Peter Luttrell. Their quinella in Saturday’s Class 1 Plate at Spreyton was the second time that Mace has achieved that feat as an owner-breeder with two horses out of the same broodmare (Finance The Fun).

Savour The Fun and his half sister Bella La Vida ran first and second in a race at Mowbray in November 2011.

Sounds Like Fun and So Much Fun have now gone for a spell.

‘‘They will be aimed at some of the lesser cups over summer, such as Longford and Sheffield,’’ Mace said.
