"We are looking to finish the season on a positive note and we set ourselves some goals over the past month," Blues coach Scott Stephens said.

"We've taken some steps forward in some areas of play and had a good win down at Clarence so to finish our last month with two wins would be a pass mark in our eyes of where we are at and where we are heading."

The Blues beat the Storm by three points in round 2 at Aurora Stadium and two points at Windsor Park in a round 8 thriller.

"We were four goals up with about eight minutes to go last time and they went bang, bang, bang and it was within a kick for the last minute or so," Stephens said.

"Our footy that day wasn't too bad from quarter-time onwards so we will take some positives out of that and we think we have some pretty good match-ups against them so we will look to get on top in those areas and hopefully we can bang some goals on."

The Blues regain Jake Rice after being a late withdrawal last week with a groin strain in their only change.

"The Storm are in a similar position to us in that they are not going to make finals but for the future both clubs have a lot to play for so we're expecting them to come out fired up and keen to finish the season on a positive note as well," Stephens said.

"They have some quality players we have to keep an eye on and try and nullify their influence on the game but we will be focused on what we can control and that is our own performance."

Western Storm coach Mitch Hills is likely to have mixed emotions as he coaches the club for the final time.

"We want to finish on some sort of a high and take something away from this year which I guess has been a bit of a horror year for us," he said.

"I think we are fairly capable of winning the game and I think it will be about our mindset again and if we can get on top of that and play some good footy there is no reason why we can't win the game."

Hills said their attitude had been poor last week against Devonport and they needed to turn up ready to go and start well and enjoy the experience for the last time and try to go out on a high.

"I'm hoping to move on to bigger and brighter things with my coaching so I guess it is the end of one journey and the start of another but hopefully we can finish this year in a good way."

He said he expected at this stage to still be a player for the Storm next year but said they would have to wait and see what happened and what came about.
