The annual Works on Paper exhibition has just landed at Evandale and showcases the different ways paper can be used as an artistic medium.
From printmaking to drawing, the exhibition includes works from Tasmanian artists Bert Aperloo, Kit Hiller and Melissa Smith and covers a range of different subjects including portrait, landscape and still life.
Handmark Gallery manager Alice Bradbury said the group of almost 20 works that had been gathered for the show were very impressive.
"It's all of our artists that make work on paper, whether it's printmaking or drawing, there's lots of different mediums that are used," Mrs Bradbury said.
"It's a really varied show this year, there's lots of unique state works, which means that they're one off, as well as limited edition prints.
"It works really well for us each year and in our Hobart gallery each year as well ... they're all incredibly strong this year."
Mrs Bradbury said that she loved seeing all the different works and styles hung together in one space and was excited to be able to show off the display to members of the public.
"One of the best parts is seeing all of the different mediums that are used and the variety of outcomes you can get working with a single medium," she said.
"We would love people to come along and have a look."
■Works on Paper will be on show until September 2 at the Handmark Gallery, 2 Russell Street, Evandale.
