On the eve of the sixth anniversary of the murder of Campbell Town man Shane Barker, Tasmania Police say the investigation remains open and active.

"It's now approaching six years since Shane Barker was murdered in his home. We want to bring the offender to justice and bring some comfort to Mr Barker's family," Detective Inspector John King of Launceston CIB said today.
"We need someone to come forward and tell us what they know about the murder, and after six years perhaps circumstances have changed enough for someone to open up.''
Police discovered Mr Barker's body with bullet wounds on the hall floor of his Campbell Town home on Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Detective Inspector King said police would like any information regarding an unidentified man who Mr Barker was seen talking to outside his home on the morning he was killed.
About 10.30am the same day, a CCTV camera in the main street of Campbell Town captured what believe believe to be the vehicle driven by the unidentified man.
That vehicle is a white 1997 to 2005 Toyota dual cab Hilux, with a white canopy and white sunraysia wheels

A $50,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of those person or persons responsible for Mr Barker's murder remains in place.
