Whether you're an experienced fisher or a beginner, the Quamby Fly Fishers Club's 7th annual open day will be open to anyone interested in the sport.
International, national and state fishing championship competitors will be on hand throughout the day to share some of their best fly fishing tips and tricks.
Demonstrations will also be given throughout the day, including fly tying and entomology, casting, knots, gear selection, cleaning and filleting and where and when to fish, time will also be given to practice these activities under expert tuition.
Quamby Fly Fishers Club president Grant Flowers and that there will be some very experienced anglers on hand to speak to the community at the open day.
"Last year we had very good numbers and it's worth people's while to come along," Mr Flowers said.
"It's all about the participation and getting more information on fly fishing.
"It will be a great day for fathers to come out with their kids and their families."
Based on the Meander River, the club regularly holds fishing outings to offer both lake and river fishing to budding fishermen.
Monthly meetings are also held at the club to discuss practical information and ideas from experienced members.
The Quamby Fly Fishers Club's 7th annual open day will be held on Sunday, September 6, from 10am until 3pm, at the Meander Memorial Hall.
