The Roos intensity and tackling pressure was outstanding in the first half and saw them lead by 15 points at half-time.
The Northern Bombers lifted their intensity and pressure in the second half and got on top finishing off the better to record a 16.9 (105) to 10.13 (73) victory.
Daniel Roozendaal, Brad Cox-Goodyer, Allan O'Sign and Lochie Young all booted three goals each for North.
Ethan Petterwood and Taylor Whitford were again good through the midfield to be two of North's best players despite being tagged along with Roozendaal and Alex Lee who shared the ruck duties and Corey Nankervis who was good in defence and kept Josh Fox to one goal.
"It was a good result for our footy club and a good reward for the playing group," North coach Zane Littlejohn said.
"Clarence's pressure early in the game was phenomenal and they tackled really well and full credit to them because it was one of the highest pressure games we've been involved in all year and they were really strong in that area of the game.
"We were turning the footy over a lot because of that pressure and we weren't capitalising on the possessions we were getting and conversely our own pressure was not what we wanted it to be.
"We spoke about it at half-time and changed a few little things around to fix it up and structure up a bit differently - our pressure went up and was the best it has been all year defensively and created turnovers and we used it smartly going forward."
North trailed by three points at three-quarter time but Littlejohn said they were always confident they were fit enough to run and break the game open in the final quarter.
"We knew it would take four quarters and the last quarter was the reward for the hard work that the players had done and we got some really good momentum which was good," he said.
Roos coach Matthew Drury and Gabriel Chambers were two of Clarence's best player with Jaymes Baker kicking two goals.
In yesterday's other State League game the Tigers caused a huge upset, beating Lauderdale by eight points, 11.12 (78) to 9.16 (70).
