The anniversary event will feature state competition, with winners to seek bragging rights against other states later this month.
Tasmanian Ploughing Association spokeswoman Mel Reid-Prewer said the event was to celebrate the formation of the association in 1965.
"The first match was held at the Michelson's property on Quamby Road," Mrs Reid-Prewer said.
"The society was formed to promote the skill of ploughing the land and to assist with promoting better agriculture."
She said the art of ploughing had evolved during the past five decades.
"It's seen many changes to the craft, including the introduction of reversible ploughing as a contest, conventional ploughing method is done with a maul board plough," Mrs Reid-Prewer said.
"Every year ploughing contests have been hosted around the state for the ploughmen to compete in.
"The ploughmen are judged on the quality of their work - from their neatness and uniformity of their opening split, to the overall neatness and weed control of their final finished plot."
A contest will be hosted at the Bayles' "Chanak" property near Cressy on June 12 and 13.
"The winner and top five in Tasmania will then form the Tasmanian team which will join with the Victorian and New South Wales team to compete in the Australian national competition," Mrs Reid-Prewer said.
"Tasmania is hosting the national contest, which will be held on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27 ... starting at 10am."
She said all previous and current members, sponsors and interested people were welcome to attend the dinner and awards ceremony, to be held at Longford's Happy Chef.
