Although power dressing did not play a part in the day of grade 6 school leaders Chloe Eldershaw and Tahlia Perkins, all other aspects of principalship were visited during their Principal 4 a Day initiative.
The program involves introducing students to the principal role – providing them with a more thorough understanding of how a school is run.
The girls were selected for the position after working to apply for the role, at short notice, throughout their weekend.
Visiting classrooms to monitor teaching schedules, as well as conducting the school’s leadership parliament and cabinet session were included in their duties for the day.
Chloe said they would make a presentation to classes in the afternoon, reporting in on what they had learnt by participating in the initiative.
Tahlia said they were now able to better appreciate the hard work it took to be a school principal.
She said she hoped to gain more social confidence and leadership skills through her involvement.
Perth Primary School principal Lee Craw said it was the first time the school had been involved with the activity.
