Premier Will Hodgman said the funding, plus $16 million in existing funding, would form a whole of government approach to respond to family violence.
''Family violence is an appalling social ill on our society that this government is determined to address,’’ Mr Hodgman said.
Multi-agency cooperation will occur between the departments of health, police, justice, education and Premier and Cabinet.
The new funding will support victims of family violence and implement prevention programs, and fund membership of the Our Watch Foundation which has been established to drive nation-wide change.
