Arts group fund-raiser
THE West Tamar Arts Group will hold fund-raising evening 12 x 9 @ 6 on July 30 at 6pm. Attendees are invited to pre-purchase a Red Tag to secure entry into the draw for works by known and unknown artists for $60. Works will be available for viewing from July 1 at Gallery Windsor at Riverside. The evening will cost $10 entry. RSVP by July 27. Take time for a cuppa
TRESCA Community Centre at Exeter will hold a Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday. The event will run from 10am until noon and feature a trade table, raffle and lucky door prize. The morning tea will cost $6 per person.
Focus on sustainability
TAMAR NRM has invited the environmentally-conscious to join its Sustainable Living Working Group. The group has worked on innovative and influential activities since 2007. Potential new members can indicate their interest by calling 6323 3310 or emailing amanda.bruce@launceston.tas.gov.au.
Volunteer drivers sought
THE George Town Wattle Group would like volunteer drivers to assist in driving members of the community to various destinations. People who can spare a half or full day to assist with this are asked to call 1300 369 150 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Volunteer drivers must be older than 25 years old, hold a current drivers' licence and have a police check.
Families Week chat
THE George Town Child and Family Centre will hold Chat 'n Much in celebration of Families Week. Parents, carers and grandparents of children aged up to five years old are invited to the event for playtime and a sausage sizzle. The event will run from 10-11.30am.
