The Australian Bureau of Statistics Labour Force figures released this morning show Tasmania's jobless rate increased 0.1 per cent in trend terms in April to 6.9 per cent - up from 6.8 per cent in March.
The participation rate has fell 0.1 per cent in April to 60.8. A year ago, the unemployment rate in Tasmania was 7.4 per cent.
The number of people in full time employment was steady at 154,800 in April, while the number of people in part-time employment fell 700 compared with a month ago.
Nationally, the unemployment rate increased 0.1 per cent in seasonally adjusted terms to 6.2 per cent in April, comarped with 6.1 per cent in March.
