"The bigger a crowd, the lower the lowest common denominator is for intelligence, and that (big crowds) is also how lynch mobs begin," Khalafalla joked on Tuesday.
"Seriously, in front of a smaller crowd, my rhythm will change, my prose will change and I can't be so theatrical because it is patronising, so I really have to work on my conversational skills in order to speak to a small crowd, which is different for me."
Having performed once before in Launceston (in 2014) in what was one of his "most fun performances", Khalafalla said he couldn't wait until his return to the city.
"What lingered in my mind after that, was that these guys really know how to suspend their belief in what is right and wrong for an hour to really maximise the enjoyment out of the things I say, as they can be quite brash."
Khalafalla said he would know within the first five minutes of his performance whether he will be going more "off the cuff" or scripted routines.
He will perform at the casino with Subby Valentine.
Valentine said interaction with the audience would be a key part of his night.
"I'll be pointing out things to people about themselves and the world they may not know about, but whether that makes them laugh or forces them to look deep into their soul is up to them.
Doors open at 6pm, with the show starting at 8pm.
