The 13-year-old Exeter High School grade 7 student is a member of the Launceston PCYC Club and will attend the camp from May 31 to June 3.
He is one of five Tasmanians picked to attend and the only one from Launceston, with the other four members coming from the Kingborough Club.
Gymnastics Australia's Team Future Camp targets the best youth gymnasts aged nine to 15 from around the country, with 15 boys and 15 girls selected in total.
It is a high-performance pathway aimed at identifying potential Olympians within the sport at a young age.
The camp will include training as well as information and educational sessions from Australia's leading sport scientists.
"I have been doing trampolining since I was five and I was pretty excited when I found out I'd been picked for the camp," Whiting said.
"I had already qualified in the Tasmanian team for the national championships, which are in Melbourne the week before the camp, so I will be flying to Canberra straight after those with my coaches and it will be a big couple of weeks of trampolining."
Whiting said the upcoming nationals would be his fourth, and his best result was a gold medal in the synchronised event in 2012 with partner Tim Wilson, also of Launceston - the pair finishing second in the same event last year.
The athletes selected for the camp have been earmarked for the 2024 Olympics.
"That would be great in the future if I could do it," Whiting said.
He is coached at the PCYC by Zach Partridge and Pip Hedley.
