George Rowlings turned heads at Pyengana earlier this year, taking out an underhand, standing and tree-felling event on the one day.
This continued at the Pyengana Easter Carnival where he won two underhand events, giving him the most successful axeman of the day title and the North-East axeman of the season title for 2015.
The weekend capped off one of the most successful woodchopping seasons ever in Tasmanian - an accomplishment Rowlings said he won't forget.
"A lot of my success this year comes from training with my mate Mick Mayne," he said.
"We train together and compete together and he has been a great help in keeping me motivated.
"Pyengana has also been a great spot for me this year. I won two titles there in February and more over Easter."
Rowlings has tasted success across the country in the last six months.
Apart from winning several handicap events this year, the 42-year woodchopping veteran was also part of the winning Tasmanian veterans team beating NSW at the recent Sydney show.
He said he will now enjoy a well-earned break, before competing again next season.
"We have a break now until October and I'm looking forward to it," Rowlings said.
"I'll keep training a little bit, but I'll lay off it a bit as well. If you stop completely at my age, it's very hard to start up again.
"I'll keep competing and I'll make up my mind on whether or not I'll go to Brisbane or Perth to compete."
