The annual event sees special activities and limited releases launched across the country in celebration of music.
It will be the first Record Store Day event for Launceston's Shots on Wax.
Shots on Wax owner Andy Collings said the business would stock a wide selection of second-hand and newly released records for the April 18 occasion.
"We're going to have a few DJs in the morning, different genres of music," Mr Collings said.
"If anyone wants to bring a bag of their own records, they can come and spin for half an hour or an hour.
"We've got an MC, Statik, who's part of Those Guys. They've just been touring in Melbourne, and I think local band The Saxons will play a set here."
The event comes as Shots on Wax prepares to host an inaugural record fair, an idea stemming from the success of one in Hobart last month.
"One hundred and forty-two people say they're going already on Facebook," Mr Collings said.
"It shows that there's the interest out there.
"I sold more records at the one event in Hobart than I have here since Christmas, that's in one day.
"There are three or four places selling records in town, I hope they would come."
The Launny Record Fair will be held on May 3.
