AFTER four years as a lawyer, in 2000 Chris Radburn decided that comedy was the path that was more suited to him.
"I come from a family of lawyers, but I decided then that I didn't want to wear a suit and talk to boring people," Radburn told X-static.
"There was one particular person who really annoyed me, I realised that I needed a bit more excitement in my life and comedy was something that I always wanted to have a go at."
Radburn, from Sydney, has gone on to become an award-winning comedian, and will bring his funny business back to Launceston for Comedy @ Tonic at Country Club Tasmania tonight.
"I'm pretty laid back and observational with comedy, just talking about everyday stuff.
"Because I have three kids, a lot of my stuff is about family, as you pretty much just write about what is happening in your life at the time.
"It's the sort of comedy that everyone relates to, which is exactly what you want."
Radburn has had previous experience performing at Comedy @ Tonic, and said he got one of best reviews from that venue.
"I came out of the gig and the bouncer told me it was the loudest we had ever heard it in there, which was obviously a nice little bit of feedback to get.
"That was my first time in Tassie and the only show I've ever done there."
Radburn will perform with his good friend Simon Kennedy tonight.
"It will be great night of entertainment and people will be able to forgot about things for a while."
A story earlier in The Examiner this week incorrectly called this comedy night Comedy at Fresh.
