The Westbury Irish Festival, on Saturday March 14, will not only include performances from nationally-renowned Melbourne band The Go Set, but will also host a range of family-friendly activities.
Westbury Irish Festival committee vice-chairwoman Sam Sullivan said the organisational crew was waiting in anxious anticipation for the event.
Mrs Sullivan said an Irish old-time ball would be held at Westbury Town Hall, while a Westbury Irish Festival joke night runs at Westbury Hotel.
The ball will begin at 7pm and will feature ball gowns, suits and dancers displaying their best fox-trotting and waltzing techniques.
Mrs Sullivan said the joke night will be hosted at the same time, hosted by an MC with all of the best jokes for a pub crowd.
"The actual Irish Festival starts at 9.30am and goes all the way until 9pm with our night on the green," she said.
"This year we're very excited for the kids area, there'll be a free jumping castle, big games — like giant snakes and ladders — face painting and free Fusion events as usual."
The festival is run with support from Meander Valley Council and community businesses and volunteers.
"We have two stages, a music stage which features all the bands and a dance stage," Mrs Sullivan said.
"There will be a map pole that is run on that end of the green by Westbury Primary School, and a wide variety of stalls."
