Uni-Mowbray sits in fourth place on the ladder and captain Shane Evans said he was looking forward to the game against the Tigers.
‘‘It will certainly tell us where we’re at for the season,’’ Evans said.
After beating Beauty Point on January 10, Uni Mowbray then lost its next game to the Diggers in a disappointing result.
Evans said Uni-Mowbray would be strengthened with the return of Richard Austin and Luke Richards, who both missed the last game because of a wedding.
‘‘We know it won’t be an easy task as Longford is on top of the ladder and unbeaten for the season.
‘‘They are a very good team,’’ he said.
After tomorrow’s game against Longford, Evans said Uni-Mowbray then played three teams below them on the ladder in Legana, Perth and Hadspen and he was confident of his team picking up enough points to hold on to fourth place.
Longford’s top-order batsmen of Ashley Holloway, Dion Blair, John McCoy and Jackson Blair have all been amongst the runs recently and pose the main threat to Uni-Mowbray.
Second-placed BEAUTY POINT will be aiming to consolidate their position on the ladder when they make the short trip up the Tamar River to LEGANA.
Captain Rob Eltringham said he was expecting a tough struggle on the small Legana ground where the opposition would be capably led by Matty Wells.
‘‘Matty is our main concern as he is a tight bowler with plenty of experience,’’ he said.
Eltringham is looking forward to Beau Hills, Vaughan Rose and Brennan Creswell making enough runs for Beauty Point to put the pressure on Legana.
Wells said it had been a tough season for his team winning just four games but they were looking forward to the challenge of playing Beauty Point.
TREVALLYN captain-coach Damian Whybrow is aware of the danger that exists in the clash against bottom team HADSPEN.
‘‘We’re coming off a disappointing result against Beauty Point and Hadspen won its last game against Legana,’’ he said.
Whybrow said Trevallyn had put itself into a winning position against Beauty Point only to be run down and tomorrow he is looking for a more committed effort from his middle order.
Trevallyn sits in third place on the ladder with Whybrow suggesting that the top four seemed reasonably settled with three rounds left after tomorrow.
Hadspen will again be looking for contributions from captain Clint Moore, Scott Semmens, Damien Martin and Scott Driesen.
PERTH play DIGGERS at Perth with both teams trying to salvage some pride from the season.
Seventh-placed Perth is coming off a heavy defeat against Longford in its last game before the Australia Day weekend break.
Perth will again need some solid batting from Scott Brewer, Mark Murfett and Phil Fulton to set Diggers a challenge.
Diggers surprised in the last round with a 38-run win over Uni-Mowbray and will again look to Darrell Clayton and Craig Wegman as they attempt to make it two in a row.
TCL LADDER (After round 13): Longford 1.59pc 46pts; Beauty Point 1.08pc 28pts; Trevallyn 1.23pc 26pts; Uni-Mowbray 0.81pc 20pts; Legana 0.95pc 14pts; Diggers 0.80pc 14pts; Perth 0.92pc 12pts; Hadspen 0.76pc 12pts.
