The Tasmanian team will be spear-headed by senior world champion Amy Cure who will be joined by world junior champions in Lauren Perry and Macey Stewart and former junior world champion Georgia Baker in the women's team.
"The girls have been on separate programs preparing for different events since Christmas so it will be great getting them all together again in Melbourne," TIS head coach Matt Gilmore said.
"The girls are really motivated to try and defend their Teams Pursuit title which they won last year with the main opposition coming from Western Australia, New South Wales and South Australia.
"Amy is also super motivated for a strong performance in the points race where she will get the chance to display her world championship jersey."
The state under-19 boys' team will be made up of Launceston's James Robinson, Hayden Di Cocco-Grant and Harrison Baker who will be joined by Hobart's Gerald Evans and Devonport's Jake Oliver.
"The under-19 boys have been working really hard," Gilmore said.
"James will be looking for a strong performance in the Individual Pursuit and once again push for national selection for the junior world championships.
"Hayden has also shown strong performances at the recent national omnium championships in particular in the points race.
"Harry and Jake are in good condition and will target the points race and scratch race and Gerald will be competing in his first senior national championships and will be looking to gain valuable experience for the years to come.
"We have a small but very talented group who are dedicated and have worked very hard in their preparation for the nationals."
Cycling Tasmania executive officer Collin Burns said: "This is a quality team of riders and shows that Tasmania cycling continues to punch above its weight.
"We are also appreciative of St Lukes Health which has provided each elite athlete with a state-of-the-art speedsuit to wear in competition as well as paying their entry fees."
