Tasmania's potato season runs from January to August each year.
Scottsdale farmer Trevor Hall says his crop well on track for another bumper season, but a warm summer has forced growers to rely heavily on irrigation this month.
"We're waiting and seeing what comes out of this week's weather front," he said. "It's been relatively dry, so we've had to use a lot of irrigation water to keep the moisture up. It would be good to see four or five inches come from the weather system this week."
Aside from dry conditions, Mr Hall believes this season can be as productive as the last.
"Everything is kicking on quite nicely and the potatoes will be ready for harvest in the next few months," he said.
"Last season was pretty good, but this year is pretty much on track to be the same."
