Tkay Maidza, Asgeir and DMA's were highlights during a day packed with plenty to see on all three stages.
Later, Empire of the Sun helped revellers dance in the New Year with a 70-minute set, followed by SBTRKT and Big Freedia.
Overall Tasmania Police said the crowds had been "well-behaved" throughout the event, with three people evicted yesterday for drug and alcohol related behaviour.
Sergeant Simon Clayton said there had been no serious offences during this year's festival, although a bad batch of ecstasy tablets known as "green apples" had been detected.
He said a particular trouble spot was the red campsite.
Eleven patrons were also evicted from the festival on Monday, but there were no issues on Tuesday.
"Overall it has been fairly good, minor theft, no assault," he said.
Sergeant Clayton said he expected police would become busier as yesterday progressed.
"I don't expect a lot of trouble tonight," he said.
"The weather is good, no wind. Hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves."
St John Ambulance Falls Festival commander Pam Heiermann said patient numbers remained at half of what she would typically expect, with no serious presentations throughout the event.
Ms Heiermann said the most interesting case St John attended yesterday was a patron with an allergic reaction to their pants.
She believed that in the lead-up to midnight the medical tent would likely become busier as celebrations increased.
Police will be conducting random breath-testing today as people make their way home from the festival.
