PARENTS are fed up with the education stalemate between the Hodgman government and the union, saying that Tasmanian children in state schools will suffer.

Tasmanian Association of State School Organisations has today asked the government to bring in an external mediator to urgently find a solution to the loss of 266 jobs in education, which it says will result in serious educational deficiencies next year.
It wants the government to reinstate school IT technicians and put $3.5 million back into school budgets.
It said it is also sick of the Education Department putting extensive demands on schools, which they want to stop.
It has requested that the Australian Education Union to accept the 18 month wage freeze.
TASSO president Jenny Eddington said the funding crisis must be fixed urgently.
''We want to see our government put school children first,'' she said.
''TASSO has been appalled by the way both the Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff and the AEU have been unable to resolve the school funding crisis,'' she said.
''We are calling on the AEU and the minister to now get on with serious negotiations. It may be that they will need to bring in an external mediator or arbitrator if they can't do it on their own,'' Mrs Eddington said.
