With more than 50 classic cars on display, the Monaro and General Motors State Trials attracted hundreds of visitors and 17 new members to the event at Launceston's Royal Park.
Monaro and General Motor Club of Tasmania president Greg Dunham said he was very happy with the success of this year's trial.
"Everyone likes a Monaro," Mr Dunham said.
"If you drive one you'll notice people looking at you and they'll give you a thumbs up.
"So many people still want to buy them."
One of the highlights of the day was the start-up of two drag cars, each one with a 300 horsepower engine.
Entrant and club member Roger Newell impressed the crowd with his immaculate orange Monaro HT.
"They're a rare classic these days and you don't see them on the road much," Mr Newell said.
"I've owned the car for 23 years and I bought it in rough condition and fully restored it myself.
"It was a big job, it took me five years to do it."
The club is already working on a national event to be held in Northern Tasmania in 2018 to celebrate 50 years of the Holden Monaro.
