Macpherson returns fresh from guiding the record-breaking Bryan brothers, of the US, to their fourth World Masters title and the announcement of his appointment to coach the Swiss Davis Cup team featuring grand slam winners Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka.
Denis Tucker’s impressive Tennis Museum will host Macpherson on a whirlwind visit home on Friday, December 12.
In London at the weekend, Bob and Mike Bryan’s fourth World Masters success took their number of doubles titles to a record 103, easily surpassing Australian duo Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde’s 61, and including a London Olympic gold medal, four Davis Cup wins and a staggering 17 grand slams.
‘‘This record is simply astonishing and our David Macpherson has steered them to these heights,’’ Tucker said.
Macpherson, who will coach the Swiss Davis Cup team in next week’s match against France, will attend an exclusive cocktail party at Tucker’s Launceston museum and talk to 100 guests.
All funds raised are going to support the new men’s and women’s pro tour event at the Launceston Regional Tennis Centre in February.
