High profile candidates former Lyons Labor MHR Dick Adams and former speaker of the house of assembly Michael Polley are joined by Leisa Gordon as council newcomers.
Former deputy mayor David Downie secured the council's top position with a 62.21 per cent victory over Cr Adams' 37.79 per cent poll.
The push for deputy mayor was well contested between candidates and incumbent councillors Richard Goss and Janet Lambert.
Crs Ian Goninon and Mary Knowles' votes were cut up in the pursuit after gaining only 19.34 per cent and 19.20 per cent of the vote.
Cr Goss sat at 34.67 per cent in the first count, leading on Cr Lambert's 26.79 per cent.
The preferences of Crs Goninon and Lambert swung in favour of Cr Goss, providing an additional 18.79 per cent of votes to see him in front with 53.46 per cent over Cr Lambert's 46.54 per cent tally.
It is the biggest addition of new faces in a single election for the council since the 2007, where councillors Don McShane, Russell Anderson and Tru Dowling stood down from their roles.
That election allowed Andrew Calvert, Cr Goss and Michael Geeves onto the board.
The new Northern Midlands Council for 2014-18, in order of most votes, will be Mayor David Downie, and councillors Adams, Goss, Lambert, Polley, Calvert, Knowles, Goninon and Gordon.
Total votes received were 5724, leaving 10th candidate Vanessa Thirkell-Johnston out of the loop with 7.53 per cent and .75 per cent of a quota.
