Ms Snadden said it was an ‘‘awesome surprise’’ to find out she had won at the opening night cocktail party.
‘‘It’s a huge boost for someone like me, because it’s just me,’’ she said.
‘‘It will be a very exciting injection into my small business, it will enable me to expand my work, and perhaps invest a little bit more in marketing and that sort of thing that I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.
‘‘Aside from the financial side of things, a Tasmanian prize is something that is really exciting to have won.’’
Ms Snadden won the emerging artist award at her first craft fair in 2010 and has received three commendations for the Premier’s Award since.
Ms Snadden said she loved the craft fair because it was different every year.
‘‘(There are) different customers that I wouldn’t usually see in the south of the state, so for me it’s really great,’’ she said.
‘‘Really solid crowds today and the weather’s been pretty good,
‘‘I think everyone’s fairly pleased today, it’s been great.’’
