GOBLINS, ghouls, go-go girls and electro mash ups.
Yep, prolific party starters Yacht Club DJs will leave a massive hole in the Australian music scene when they hang up their headphones later this year.
After six years on the country’s club and festival circuit, the Ballarat lads have decided to pull the pin and are going out all guns blazing.
The duo was in red-hot form at the Republic Bar in Hobart last night for the first in a 14-show farewell tour.
Asymmetrical haircuts and ironic t-shirt synonymous with the hipster haunt had made way for impressive and disturbing Halloween costumes, and the joint was absolutely heaving.
Tasmanian indie outfit Chase City had the crowd up and about early, before the party stepped up a notch when Yacht Club DJs hit the stage.
Tunes from the boys’ recently released EP NO.1 were spun alongside pop party anthems from their mix tape back catalogue.
It was hot, it was sweaty, and it was damn fun.
Gaz and Guy will be backing it up with a second Hobart performance tonight, before shipping off to the mainland for the next in their string of shows.
Get down and say goodbye.
