Jap, the No.7 seed, defeated fellow Victorian Elton Zang in a very close semi-final yesterday, winning 21-9, 18-21, 21-19.
Wang, seeded No.4, came back after losing the first game of his semi-final match-up against another Victorian teammate in Janson Trinh, to win a tight contest, 16-21, 21-17, 21-19.
In the girls’ semi-finals, New South Wales’ No.1 seed Jodee Vega went down to West Australian No.4 seed Bella Yutong Liu, 21-8, 20-22, 21-8.
The other semi-final saw an all-NSW match-up between Victoria He and No.2 seed Celeste Lee, with Lee winning 21-17, 21-17.
The Victorian pair of William Chou and Elton Zang qualified for today’s boys’ doubles final defeating Charlie Jap and Janson Trinh in their semi-final, 21-17, 21-18.
They will meet Jared Song and Felix Wang in the final after they defeated the NSW pair of Jia Ang and Rheinhardt Nalzaro, 21-8, 21-14, in their semi-final.
The Tasmanian boys’ double pair of Sharad Rai and Thomas Green won the consolation final defeating their South Australian opponents Jonathan Wong and Kevin Yin, 23-21, 21-18.
The finals will be played today from 10am.
