The 27-year-old man-mountain stripped 17 kilograms off his big frame after a gruelling preseason fitness campaign and has reaped the rewards for his hard work with the best year of his football career.
Roozendaal claimed the Alastair Lynch Medal as State League best and fairest, the Darrel Baldock Medal for best on ground in the grand final and a premiership medal all on the one day.
Roozendaal finished the Alastair Lynch Medal count on 24 votes, ahead of Glenorchy's Jaye Bowden on 22 and Western Storm's Matt Hanson on 21.
"It's been a brilliant day and the only medal I really wanted was that premiership medal," he said.
"The others are bonuses.
"It's the first premiership I've won since I was defeated in the under-15s playing at Bridport in the NEFU, 11 years ago."
Roozendaal said the weight loss enabled him to put more into his game and go forward as required by coach Zane Littlejohn, as well as aiding his work in the ruck.
"I was pretty happy with my season and I worked hard," he said.
"I wasn't sure how good my season was, and now it's come to the point that I must have had a pretty good year.
"I didn't get picked in the state team so I thought I hadn't worked hard enough, but maybe they picked wrong.
"I was just one of 22 contributors today and I played my role.
"I had only signed for one year with a young family, but I reckon I might put pen to paper again tonight."
