The Hadspen woman will compete in two sections of the International Natural Bodybuilding Association Tasmanian championships at Launceston's Albert Hall on Sunday.
With more than 20 trophies and international representation already under her belt, the 32-year-old is quietly confident of her chances despite the fact she last competed in 2010.
"I stopped going to the gym completely," Ms McCulloch said.
"In February this year I got a gym membership - I've always had the aim to do one more competition after I had a baby."
One-year-old Oscar has witnessed his dedicated mother train and diet for months in preparation for this weekend's event.
Ms McCulloch said a different approach to training had her looking her best and feeling "good and excited".
"Every year I've done it I've done it a bit differently," she said.
"I met Justin Smith of Kettlefit Strength and Conditioning . . . with his knowledge my preparation has been totally better and I've dieted a lot better."
Ms McCulloch, who is a casual youth worker at Ashley Detention Centre and part-time hairdresser, said she hoped to take home a statue.
"I want a big damn trophy," she said.
"I'm happy with my preparation but you never know how other people will turn up on the day."
Sunday's championship will be the largest ever held in the state.
Competitors will take to the stage from 10am-1pm then 2-6pm. For tickets and details, visit planetmax.com.au
