The experienced big man has below his best in the past few weeks and his side desperately needs him firing if they are going to enjoy September success.
``I've been disappointed in the last few weeks and I think my form has dropped off a bit so I've been working hard and am really looking forward to getting back to some form this week,'' McCulloch said.
He said the Storm needed to do some things differently this week in order to reverse last week's result against their cross-town rival North Launceston in today's qualifying final.
`They played a good game on Friday night but there are certainly a few things we can change,'' he said.
``It's a four-goal turnaround we need to effect and we've certainly worked on some things this week that will change that result.
``We've reviewed the game and I think we can improve our performance and a few structural things will help with that.''
Morale around the playing group remained positive he said, despite last week's defeat.
``We were very disappointed and wanted to finish in top spot and have a week off so regardless of who we lost to we were going to be disappointed - but to lose to a cross-town rival makes it more bitter,'' he said.
``But at the end of the day it is our first season and we finished second on the ladder and equal on points with Clarence which has given us a chance to have a great assault on the finals and go all the way now.
While happy with the way the Storm's defence stood up last Friday night McCulloch said the forwards and midfield needed to lift if they were to win today.
``On the weekend a lot of our key forwards were quiet.
``I think it is going to be won this week in the midfield and I think we have the best midfield and can win it there - and our forwards need to stand up and be accountable which we weren't last weekend.''
