Premier Will Hodgman, Lyons Liberal MHA Guy Barnett and Lyons Liberal MHR Mark Shelton met with the council last Thursday.
The council was informed of available grant funding for the commemoration, on the back of a major Anzac Day event at Longford this year.
Points of discussion also included the council’s priority project listing — approved by its members earlier this year.
Details of projects including the Perth bypass, Powranna Road upgrade, Woolmers Heritage brick replacement, Longford Community Health Centre and an integrated transport hub at Western Junction were shared with the group.
The council also raised economic development opportunities regarding a potential tyre recycling plant in Tasmania, Midlands irrigation and agricultural production.
Potentials for snow-driven economic growth, ownership and responsibility of former Forestry Tasmania roads and their tourism value were also highlighted by the council.
A council spokeswoman said the premier acknowledged the value of a good strategic partnership and working relationships between the state and local government.
