FROSTY conditions were braved by about 50 anglers at Lake Leake, each casting a bid for the area's inaugural open trout season fishing competition on Saturday.
The competition, held by the Lake Leake Community Social Club, saw 28 trout caught throughout the day, according to club secretary Phil Gorringe.
''The feedback has been extremely encouraging and I'm sure it will be a fixture next opening for sure,'' Mr Gorringe said.
He said the day ended with about 100 people joining in end-of-day weigh-in celebrations about 5pm.
