Edie Bucirde and Hannah Youl, both 14, of East Launceston, charge $7 an hour to walk and feed dogs.
Hannah said they had been going for a month and already had a steady clientele.
‘‘It’s a good job and we make sure the dogs get a good walk,’’ she said.
‘‘They are pretty knackered afterwards. We must be doing it right because when we come to the gate, they (dogs) get pretty excited. And I think they enjoy being in groups, they like to meet other dogs.’’
‘‘A lot of people are busy or are travelling (so we walk their dogs).’’
She said they really stepped out for the walks, covering about five kilometres in an hour.
‘‘They are pretty hyperactive before we go,’’ she said.
‘‘So we try and wear them out.
‘‘We go up and down hills quite a few times.’’
