Are these academics seriously arguing against a more detailed understanding of the estuary through 3D hydro dynamic modelling?
The aim of the modelling is to help a range of organisations better understand the water-flows in our estuary - whether it be the Flood Authority with silt and flood protection, TasWater with respect to sewerage treatment, NRM North with environmental assessment and yes, also the potential impacts up-stream and down-stream from the proposed Tamar Lake barrage.
We need reasoned and considered assessment of the facts and that's why Tamar Lake has commissioned a range of studies to better understand the environmental, technical and economic aspects of the Tamar Lake barrage.
We see this project as having the potential to transform the Tamar Valley and reinvigorate our community.
The studies under way are to ensure we don't create environmental problems of the likes outlined in the Davis/Kidd letter.
Tamar Lake is funded by the local members of the community, with no personal profit motive.
