Tasmanians featured in the sale, at Dubbo, New South Wales, where 124 registered buyers from five states competed for the 130 bulls offered by more than 50 vendors.
A clearance rate of 81.5 per cent saw 106 change hands, grossing grossed $715,500 and averaging $6750, just $266 down on last year's average, when the sale recorded a new auction record of $90,000.
Ouse-based Guildford Poll Herefords bid the second-highest price of $26,000 for JWR Herefords' Kidman Biography H008.
Another two Tasmanian studs, Quamby Plains Poll Herefords, at Hagley, and Chester Poll Herefords, at Westwood, paid $24,000 for Days Patrick H37 from vendors, Lachy and Lou Day, of Bordertown, South Australia.
Andrew and Caroline McLauchlan, Valma Poll Herefords, at Whitemore, sold their genetics to the mainland for $21,000, with Chris Lisle, of Tummel Herefords, Walcha, NSW, taking home Valma Hailstone.
