Modern Aspects
GARAGE-STYLE pop-rock with that strong guitar sound is the first element of the debut album of Launceston’s J Robert Youngtown.
But there is more than that here.
A deeper feeling is prevalent and there’s plenty here once you scratch the surface from an emotive point of view.
Throw in a low baritone voice that has a confidence within it to hold the course of the album and you have an impressive offering, with songs that almost effortlessly drag you in.
Lyrically it is extremely honest, to the point that gets you asking questions of yourself.
The standout tracks are Maybe Tomorrow, Hypnotised by a Mirror, Hours, Dreaming Man For All Seasons, Live That Way and Don’t Tell Me You’re Lonely.
An album that you know goes down very nicely in the live setting.
