``It just seems to get bigger and bigger every year,'' Mr Crozier said.
Former Launceston resident Andrew Burbury was there, spending the day at home for the first time since he joined the Australian Defence Force 25 years ago.
Sergeant Burbury, a relative of former Governor Stanley Burbury who is now based at the Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, said he was usually marching or deployed on operations on Anzac Day.
``My most recent deployment was 2012 to Afghanistan, with Mentoring Task Force 4,'' Sergeant Burbury said.
``I just felt like coming back and just being able to do it for the first time.''
Sergeant Burbury, who also served in East Timor and Bougainville, said there were a couple of people he thought of as he marked the day.
He said he would be leaving the ADF next year
