RINGAROOMA postmaster David Shaw will speak about the role of animals and birds in war when he addresses the town's 11am Anzac Day service.

Born in Glasgow, the 65-year-old served 10 years with the British Royal Army Veterinary Corps as a specialist dog trainer, training guard and security dogs, tracker dogs and explosive-detection dogs.
He saw active service in Aden and Northern Ireland and had tours in Malaya, Singapore and West Germany.
After coming to Australia Mr Shaw worked for the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service for 32 years, 18 of those with detector dogs as a handler and supervisor with both state and federal dog teams and helped to set up the first quarantine dogs in Tasmania.
Mr Shaw and wife Susan run the post office in the town they have called home for the past six years.
Teenager Jessie May Branch will also speak and people wishing to march should meet at the visitor centre at 10.45am.
After the service an Anzac roast lunch will be offered at the local hotel.
THE Bridport RSL will host a gunfire breakfast after the dawn service at the Bridport Ex-Services and Community Club, in Main Street - cost is $10 a plate and all are welcome.
The club will also host a dawn service at 6am at the Main Street cenotaph, opposite the community club.
Marchers in the 11am service are asked to assemble at the CWA car park at 10.50am for the 11am start.
Wreath laying and the Last Post will be at at the Cenotaph after the service. Lunch will be available at the Ex-Services Community and Bowls Club dining room after the main service.
Bridport Girl Guides will once again play an important role in the commemorations, helping to serve breakfast and standing guard at the cenotaph following the 11am service, at which Zoe Cairns will read a prayer.
The Bridport Primary School choir, featuring soloist Dylan Barnett, will sing at the service in the community hall, Tom Barnett and Alexandra Phillips will recite a poem and school office manager Missy Thompson will give the address.
Because Anzac Day falls on a Friday this year, the Bridport Probus Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10am on Thursday.
LILYDALE'S dawn service will be followed by Breakfast in the Elderly Citizens Club.
The 11am service will take place in the memorial hall and be followed by morning tea.
President Gerry Coret said Lilydale District School was involved and he hoped to see at least as many faces as last year.
THE Friends of St Pauls Springfield will hold their first Anzac Day service at St Pauls Springfield at 3pm on Anzac Day.
Association chairman Paul Smith said that there were about 20 ex-servicemen buried in the St Pauls cemetery and it was hoped that relatives will be able to attend and pay tribute to their family members.
SCOTTSDALE will host its dawn service at the Cenotaph where former Scottsdale High School student Mae Farrell will address those present.
Scottsdale High School's Dakoda Titmus will address the 11am service at the RSL club before the march to the Cenotaph.
There will also be a special Anzac Day football match between Scottsdale and George Town at Scottsdale Recreation Ground at 5pm.
