The Lions Club holds the annual event in memory of Mr Hill, which last year saw about $2500 raised from 23 teams.
The match is a fund- raiser for the Cancer Council and is run as a three-ball, nine-hole ambrose.
Perth Lions Club secretary Brian Shephard said the day saw many people familiar with Mr Hill's past tee-ing off from the Quamby grounds.
"He was a great name in the North, Max Hill," Mr Shephard said.
He said a slew of prizes and trophies were on offer for competitors taking part on the day.
"Last year we had a car for a hole-in-one, which didn't go off," Mr Shephard said.
"This year the hole-in- one prize is a large-screen television that will be won on the day by the person who gets closest.
"Virtually everyone gets something, from the winners down to the tail enders."
He said the event would run for about three hours, which included barbecues and refreshment drinks at selected holes before a lunch to end the day.For more information contact Glenn Leighton on 0458 221 922 or email perth@lionstasmania.org
